My highest priority as an elected official is to help my constituents and act as the liaison between you and the state government. If you are experiencing an issue, have questions about legislation or a complaint about one of our state agencies, or are trying to get in contact with federal representatives, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my office via email, in writing, or by phone and I will do what I can to help resolve the issue. My office is always happy to assist you to the best of our ability!

How can my office be of service to you?

Frequently Requested Services

  • Get help with a state agency or program you’re having issues with, like the Virginia Employment Commission (VEC) or the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
  • Connect with local officials or congressional liaisons.
  • Get questions answered about state legislation.
  • Suggest a bill or resolution for the 2025 legislative session.
  • Nominate someone for a commending resolution or request a memorial resolution for the 2025 session.
  • Request a special recognition or congratulations to a resident of the 55th District! We can write a letter, provide a certificate, or schedule a commemorative flag to be flown over the Capitol (a small fee applies).

Other Issues

  • Do you have a question about local government? You will get the best answers to your questions from the County Administrator on your local Board of Supervisors in Albemarle County, Louisa County, Nelson County, or Fluvanna County.
  • Do you have a question about federal legislation, congressional hearings, or a federal agency like the US Postal Service? You will get the best answers on these issues from your federal representatives, Congressman Bob Good and Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine.
  • Not sure if your issue is a federal, state, or local question? Email us anyway and we’ll try to point you in the right direction!

How can I set up a meeting with you?

  • Please contact my office at delalaufer@house.virginia.gov or 540-251-4603 to arrange an appointment. I am at my district office in Crozet regularly, though I do not currently maintain specific office hours, and am always happy to meet with constituents about issues or potential legislation.

How can I arrange a tour of the Capitol in Richmond?

  • Guided tours of the State Capitol are available for walk-in visitors as well as groups with tour appointments. All groups of 10 or more are expected to make tour reservations in advance. Individuals, couples, families and small groups with fewer than 10 people may take guided or self-guided tours during daily operating hours. For more information about hours and tours, please visit the Capitol’s website!

What if my child is interested in being a page?

  • Each year, 13 and 14-year-olds from across the Commonwealth are selected to serve as House Pages during the regular legislative session. Being part of the Page Program is a fantastic way for your child to get hands-on experience with how the General Assembly works. For more information about eligibility and applying to the program, click here.
